Psychologist available on base to meet needs of wing members and their families

For several months Jeffrie Silverberg, Ph.D. has been working as the 166th Airlift Wing's Director of Psychological Health Services.

Dr. Silverberg has over 35 years of experience as a psychologist, and he has worked in a broad range of facilities including community mental health clinics and private and public hospitals, and has an extensive background as a practitioner in the private sector. He is not a member of the Air National Guard but is a contract employee of Optimization Consulting, Inc. and is available at all times to the members of the Delaware Air Guard and their families for consultations regarding their perceived needs.

Dr. Silverberg's services include:

  1. Providing mental health assessment, referral, and associated non-medical support services for pre- and post-deployment members and their families.
  2. To be responsible for assuring the delivery of quality psychological and behavioral clinical and consultative referral services.
  3. To be the Point of Contact (POC) for follow up and treatment and to insure appropriate tracking of members with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).
  4. And provide case management for service members returning from deployment.
Location: Dr. Silverberg's office is in Room 20 in Bldg 2801 (Medical Group) next to the Dental Section.

Hours: Dr. Silverberg will usually have office hours during normal duty hours to include monthly Unit Training Assemblies. He is also available to speak with members and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week regarding their concerns.
