New recruit brings Delaware Air Guard's authorized strength to 100 percent

Dominique DiMatteo, a 17-year-old high school senior cadet at the Delaware Military Academy in Wilmington, Del., and a resident of Newport, Del. is sworn into the Delaware Air National Guard on Sept. 6, 2013, by Brig. Gen. Carol Timmons, assistant adjutant general for air, Delaware National Guard. Ms. DiMatteo's enlistment brings the authorized strength of the Delaware ANG to 100 percent, a recruiting milestone last reached during the Vietnam War era. After graduation from high school Ms. DiMatteo will attend Air Force Basic Training and technical school, and join the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, part of the 166th Airlift Wing. By coincidence the event occurred on the 67th anniversary of the founding of the Delaware ANG. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Andrew Horgan)
