Delaware Leadership Academy graduates Class of 2015 - unique program is first in the nation

On Thursday, April 16, the Delaware National Guard will graduate 11 members of the Delaware Leadership Academy, Class of 2015. The event begins at 3 p.m. at the Delaware Air National Guard Headquarters, 2600 Spruance Drive, New Castle, Del. The event is open to the public and media are invited to attend.

A partnership between the Delaware National Guard and Wilmington University, the Delaware Leadership Academy was developed in 2009. The program teaches about the joint environment and provides a strategic view of how other services operate.

The DLA consists of six modules, lasting seven weeks each. At the completion of the program, graduates will have 18 credit hours to use towards a Master of Science Degree in Homeland Security, or in Management, with a concentration in military leadership.

Since its inception, the program has produced 87 graduates.
