166th Operations Group Commander
The mission of the 166th Operations Group is to train and supply mission-ready tactical airlift professionals, aeromedical evacuation crewmembers, and cyberspace operators to support higher headquarters taskings. Combat-trained aircrews are prepared to respond to state, national and world-wide contingencies and disasters. The group has four squadrons: the 166th Operations Support Squadron, the 142d Airlift Squadron, the the 142d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, and the 166th Cyberspace Operations Squadron. The group flies the C-130H3 cargo transport aircraft.
166th Operations Support Squadron
The 166th OSS is responsible for providing airfield management, intelligence, aviation resource management, aircrew flight equipment, tactics, long- and short-range mission planning services to the group and any transient customers. The squadron enables the 142d AS and 142d AES to meet any assigned missions.
142d Airlift Squadron
The mission of the 142d Airlift Squadron is to provide combat ready aircrews for state, national, and worldwide deployment in support of any assigned missions. The squadron's aircraft and aircrews can operate during the day and at night, in all weather conditions, while performing airland, airdrop, and aeromedical evacuation mission sets. The C-130 aircraft is primarily and intra-theater platform. The airlift squadron consists of pilots, navigators, flight engineers, loadmasters, and includes administrative support personnel.
166th Cyberspace Operations Squadron
The mission of the 166th Cyberspace Operations Squadron is to train and supply mission-ready Airmen to the Cyber National Mission Force. When mobilized, they conduct cyber operations to defeat cyberspace threats to the military network and the nation. The squadron consists of Offensive Cyberspace Operators, Intelligence Officers, Cyber Warfare Operators, Cyber Intelligence Analysts, Network Operators, System Administrators, and administrative support personnel. The squadron’s Airmen are prepared to respond to state, national, and worldwide requirements.
142d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron
The mission of the 142d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron is to provide the "Best Care in the Air" with trained and qualified aeromedical evacuation crews mission-ready for state, national and worldwide deployment in support of any assigned mission. The squadron's mission capability includes nurses, medical technicians, administrative specialists and more. The squadron is ready to fill the need when events like natural disasters, war or routine medical transportation by air is required. AES crews consist of five people; two nurses and three medical technicians. The crew carries with them the necessary equipment to quickly turn any cargo aircraft in the Air Force inventory into a flying ambulance.
