COLONEL LYNN K. ROBINSON JR.

Col Lynn K. Robinson Jr. is the Commander of the 166th Airlift Wing in New Castle, Delaware. As commander, he is responsible for leading more than 1,100 people, overseeing base property and capital assets and controlling an annual budget exceeding $55 million. Col Robinson directs the wing's overall missions, which include providing tactical airlift and air drop of troops, cargo and passengers using C-130H2.5 aircraft; providing aeromedical evacuation; supporting state, regional, and national civil engineering efforts; and conducting cyberspace operations.

Col Robinson received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla. He has 22 years of service and spent seven years active duty as a B-52H Instructor Radar Navigator stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., and 15 years in the Delaware Air National Guard as a C-130H Instructor Navigator. Col Robinson is a Master Navigator with over 2,800 flight hours, including 540 combat hours and more than 350 instructor hours. He has participated in seven deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Col Robinson’s previous assignments include Chief of Wing Plans, Wing Director of Inspections, Commander of the 166th Maintenance Squadron, Commander of the 166th Maintenance Group, and Commander of the 166th Operations Group. Prior to his current position, the colonel was the Director of Staff, Joint Forces Headquarters, Delaware Air National Guard, New Castle, Delaware.
