Chief Master Sergeant Chena I. Williams

Chief Master Sergeant Chena I. Williams is the Command Chief, 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard, New Castle, Delaware. The wing’s overall mission is to provide tactical airlift and air drop, aeromedical evacuation, civil engineering, and cyber operations in support of domestic operations and the Air Force’s global air mobility missions. Chief Williams is the principal advisor to the commander and senior leadership on matters influencing the readiness, health, morale, welfare, and professional development of more than 1,100 ANG members and how they are utilized to support strategic wing initiatives. Chief Williams provides leadership and management in organizing, equipping, and training assigned personnel in subordinate squadrons.

Chief Williams enlisted in the active duty Air Force in February 1996 as an Information Manager and graduated technical school in May 1996. Chief Williams worked as an Information Manager in the 436th Supply Squadron and 436th Airlift Wing Safety Office. In 2001, she was deployed in support of Operation SOUTHERN WATCH. During this deployment, she worked as a Postal Operations Clerk aiding in dispatching and receiving over 250,000 pounds of mail. In December 2004, Chief Williams joined the Reserves as an Information Manager in the 512th Mission Support Squadron. During this time she deployed in support of Joint Military Postal Activity-Atlantic as a Postal Operations Specialist. In April 2006, Chief Williams was selected for an Active Guard Reserve position with the Delaware Air National Guard as an Information Manager for the 166th Logistics Readiness Squadron. In 2017, she was selected as the Wing Staff Superintendent and appointed as the 3F5 Functional Manager for the base. In this role, Chief Williams was responsible for the technical, administrative, and management duties for the wing commander and staff. As Functional Manager, she developed a comprehensive training plan and streamlined the 3F5 upgrade process. In 2020, she was selected for the position as the Human Resource Office Personnel Manager for the Headquarters, Delaware Air National Guard. Prior to her current assignment, Chief Williams served as the 166th Operations Group Senior Enlisted Leader.
