166th Airlift Wing change of command Published March 4, 2015 By U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Francis Vavala, adjutant general Delaware National Guard Joint Force Headquarters ARMED FORCES RESERVE CENTER, New Castle, Del. -- Delaware National Guard Family, It is my distinct pleasure to announce that Col. Donald R. Bevis, Jr. has been selected to assume command of the 166th Airlift Wing from Col. Michael J. Feeley effective April 20, 2015. A change of command will take place during the May UTA. Colonel Feeley has led the 166th AW since June 2012 through some very difficult times. He is a dedicated and energetic leader who accomplished much in his tenure. The Delaware Air National Guard attained record highs in end-strength and continued our record of superior performance both operationally and in formal inspections. I look forward to him joining my personal staff. Colonel Bevis will continue the tradition of fantastic leaders in the wing commander position. He is a seasoned officer with a wide range of experience in both the wing and the highest staff levels in the Pentagon. Col. Bevis has a superior record of achievement and superbly balances people with mission. I congratulate both of these officers and wish them well in their new assignments.
