Twenty-one Delaware Air Guard members graduate as part of Community College of the Air Force Class of October 2013

Twenty-one Airmen of the Delaware Air National Guard were recognized as graduates of the Community College of the Air Force Class of October 2013 at a ceremony held Nov. 3, 2013, at Delaware ANG Headquarters, New Castle ANG Base, Del. NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. -- A graduation ceremony held this Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at the New Castle Air National Guard Base, Del., recognized 21 Airmen from the Delaware Air National Guard who graduated as part of the Community College of the Air Force Class of October, 2013.

The 21 Airmen earned a total of 23 associate of applied science degrees in 14 degree programs. Two Airmen received two degrees each.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Carol Timmons, assistant adjutant general for air, Delaware National Guard, presented the awards at a base ceremony. She was joined by 166th Airlift Wing Commander Col. Mike Feeley, 166th AW Vice-Commander Col. Dave Byerly, 166th AW Command Chief Master Sgt. Henry Rome, and Delaware ANG State Command Chief Master Sgt. Steven Stinsky.

A total of 405 CCAF associate of applied science degrees have been awarded to Delaware ANG members since 1976. Of the total, 249 degrees have been awarded since April 2003. CCAF degrees are awarded twice annually, in April and October.

The CCAF is part of Air University and located at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala. According to their website, CCAF is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the regional commission responsible for accrediting degree-granting institutions in 11 Southern states. The CCAF is a federally-chartered degree-granting institution that serves the United States Air Force's enlisted total force, and is the only college system solely for enlisted members of the U.S. military. The CCAF Associate in Applied Science Degree is offered in six broad career areas, with 67 specific degree programs, each consisting of a minimum of 64 semester hours. The CCAF awarded the first AAS degrees in 1976.

The 21 graduating Airmen, listed in order by last name, unit and associate of applied science degree earned:

Tech. Sgt. Victoria Arnold, a member of the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, earned an AAS in Allied Health Sciences.

Staff Sgt. Richard Bergante, a member of the 166th Security Forces Squadron, earned an AAS in Criminal Justice.

Staff Sgt. Wayne Borrmann, a member of the 166th Civil Engineer Squadron, earned an AAS in Emergency Management.

Tech. Sgt. Zaquette Everett, a member of the 166th Airlift Wing, earned an AAS in Vehicle Maintenance.

Master Sgt. David Ferguson, a member of the 166th Logistics Readiness Squadron, earned an AAS in Emergency Management.

Tech. Sgt. Angela Giroud, a member of the 166th Logistics Readiness Squadron, earned an AAS in Aircraft Armament Systems Technology.

Tech. Sgt. Jon Goe, a member of the 166th Network Warfare Squadron, earned an AAS in Electronic Systems Technology.

Master Sgt. (now 2nd Lt.) Kemeshia Greene, a member of the 142nd Airlift Squadron, earned an AAS in Logistics.

Staff Sgt. Robert Hanna, a member of the 166th Security Forces Squadron, earned an AAS in Criminal Justice.

Master Sgt. Sean Henderson, a member of the 166th Medical Group, earned an AAS in Biomedical Equipment Technology.

Staff Sgt. Mekyla Tiller, a member of the 166th Operations Support Squadron, earned an AAS in Aircrew Safety Systems Technology.
