Delaware Air Guard member deploys to Afghanistan to manage U.S. CENTCOM contracts

Technical Sgt. Amy Kline, a single mother, resident of Newark, Del., contracting officer and 15-year member of the 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard, at the New Castle ANG Base on May 3, 2013 before she leaves the week of May 6 for two weeks of Combat Airman Skills Training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., followed by a six month deployment to the Joint Theater Support Contracting Command near Kabul, Afghanistan. Kline will work under U.S. Central Command authority as a contingency contracting officer with specialists who manage contracts for supplies and services used throughout U.S. CENTCOM’s area of responsibility covering 20 countries.
