Mishap-free flying hour milestones recognized
166th Airlift Wing Commander Col. Jonathan Groff (left) gives his wing commander’s coin to Senior Master Sgt. (Ret.) John R. Quigley (center), a Del. Air National Guard C-130 aircraft flight engineer and combat veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm (1990-1991), and a resident of Frankford, Del. Moments earlier he presented the Military Airlift Command Individual Flying-Hour Milestone Award for attaining 15,000 mishap-free flying hours to Sgt. Quigley. This award was overlooked 21 years ago as the unit prepared to deploy overseas in Aug. 1990 after Iraq invaded Kuwait. Master Sgt. James D. Godby, an instructor loadmaster and current member of the 142nd Airlift Squadron, Del. ANG, and a resident of Newark, Del., reached the 10,000 mishap-free flying hour milestone last month, and was presented the Air Mobility Command award during the same ceremony at the 16th Annual Del. ANG Retirees' Breakfast and FY 2012 Honoree ceremony on Oct. 14, 2011 at wing HQ, New Castle, Del. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Harold Herglotz)
