166th Civil Engineer Squadron Firefighter trains Iraqis while under fire in Baghdad

Staff Sgt. Alfred Akeroyd a firefighter with the 166th Civil Engineer Squadron stands outside Station 33 with their new P-23 crash truck, 12-May-2020. Staff Sgt. Akeroyd deployed to the Baghdad, Iraq air base to train Iraqi firefighters from November 2019 through April 2020. During his deployment, Akeroyd endured numerous rocket and mortar attacks from rebel extremists while working as an air advisor to the Iraqi military.
