Airman from Delaware Air Guard to marry fiancé on base this morning before deploying to Afghanistan in two weeks

NEW CASTLE, DE - At 11:00 a.m. this morning, Wednesday December 13, 2007, Senior Airman John Green, a member of the 166th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Delaware Air National Guard, will marry his fiancé.

A Delaware National Guard chaplain will perform the ceremony, with a small number of family members present.

The Airman requested permission to be married on base and for his ceremony to be witnessed by fellow unit members and small number of family members. He deploys to Afghanistan in two weeks, a few days after Christmas.

Senior Airman John Green lives in Wilmington, DE, zip code 19805. He is an aircraft maintenance apprentice, and has served full-time in the Delaware Air National Guard for three years.

Media are permitted on base as early as 10:30 a.m., and should be her NO LATER THAN 10:50 a.m. if interested in attending. The simple wedding ceremony will start at 11:00 a.m. sharp, and be over in less than 10 minutes. The ceremony will be held in the main first floor room of the headquarters building at 2600 Spruance Drive, New Castle, DE 19720.
