Planned Active Shooter Exercise is CONCLUDED at the New Castle Air National Guard Base, Delaware

The 166th Airlift Wing, Delaware Air National Guard has CONCLUDED an "active-shooter" EXERCISE today, August 27, 2014, at the New Castle Air National Guard Base, Delaware.
 
The exercise was conducted so that base personnel and first responders can practice for potential threats against personnel on the air base.This was a planned training event by the 166th Airlift Wing.

This exercise was coordinated with local civilian law enforcement authorities, other first responders and local military units. Representatives of local police departments are on base for the exercise.

Durign such exercises, members of the public may observe unusual movements of people or vehicles on base, hear occasional loud noises or witness other activity as part of the exercise scenarios. The public should know that this activity is related to our controlled exercise, a training event we practice on an occasional basis.
