Four Airmen from the 166th Airlift Wing were awarded the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Save Citation Ribbon during the 7th Annual Sudden Cardiac Arrest Reunion at the Tatnall School, Wilmington, Del., Feb 27, 2019.

Staff Sgts. Cody Lytle, Ronald Stanton, Edward Waldyer and Senior Airman Mitch Tolbert, 166th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Protection journeymen, were all awarded the ribbons for their participation in a pre-hospital cardiac arrest case that resulted in the patient being successfully discharged from the hospital.

“To our uniformed personnel, we commend your dedication and commitment to serving others,” said Matthew Meyer, New Castle County Executive. “Without the combined effort of all those involved, none of the successful cases highlighted would be possible.”

The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Save Citation Ribbon is awarded by the Emergency Medical Services Division of the New Castle County Department of Public Safety to uniformed personnel during the annual reunion. Recipients of the ribbon must have been personally involved in the delivery of case to the patient and supported by the documentation from the case.

“We are so incredibly proud of our Airmen and the tremendous work they do,” said Master Sgt. James Knightly, 166th Civil Engineer Squadron fire chief. “Their dedication to their service and community is unprecedented and second to none.”
