Delaware Air National Guard Outstanding Airmen of the Year FY 2009

Master Sgt. Glenn Davis, a member of the 166th Civil Engineer Squadron, 166th Airlift Wing, New Castle, Del., is the Delaware Air National Guard's FY 2009 First Sergeant of the Year. Sergeant Davis, a resident of West Grove, Pa., is the First Sergeant of the 166th CES. A traditional (part-time) military member, Sgt. Davis is employed full-time as practicing civil and criminal lawyer in Pa. Senior Airman Benjamin Fileti, a member of the 166th Maintenance Squadron, 166th Airlift Wing, New Castle, Del., is the Delaware Air National Guard's FY 2009 Airman of the Year. Airman Fileti, a resident of Hockessin, Del., is an aircraft structural maintenance journeyman in the fabrication section of the 166th MXS. He deployed with his unit to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan from Nov. 2009 to Jan. 2010 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Ashman, a resident of Bear, Del., is a services specialist in the 166th FSS, and deployed to Southwest Asia for six months in 2003 to Al Minhad Air Base, United Arab Emirates. She is a full-time nurse in the medical intensive care unit at Christiana Hospital, Del., holds an M.B.A. in health care, and is pursuing an additional masters degree in nursing and education. She has deployed numerous times to both hemispheres, including two deployments to Southwest Asia with her Delaware ANG unit to the nations of Uzbekistan and Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
