Airmen with the 166th Cyber Operations Squadron were recognized for their accomplishments at a ceremony held at the Delaware National Guard Joint Force Headquarters, Del., on Aug. 19, 2023.

19 airmen were deployed alongside three Maryland Air National Guard airmen in support of the Cyber National Mission Force.

The airmen provided critical force augmentation to CNMF by continually supplying highly mission effective personnel to integrate into operations and produce actionable intelligence on Day 1 of mobilization.

Working side-by-side with CNMF, other government agencies and allied partners, the members conducted over 300 offensive cyber operations, analyzed over 40,000 network artifacts, reviewed over 7,000 communications, and processed collected network information consisting of over 600 devices. The airmen put in-place new processes and procedures for producing intelligence from collected data to ensure that maximum value is extracted. They also developed new tools and tactics for imposing costs on a peer cyber adversary.

"By virtue of their high level of technical skill and proven excellence in the private sector, Air National Guard members bring a unique set of skills to CNMF that add to the skills of their Active Duty counterparts and  boost the effectiveness of CMNF as a whole," said a Cyber Intelligence Officer with the 166th COS. "CMNF is grateful for the talent the ANG brings and, as a result of these highly successful deployments, is looking to increase the support role of the National Guard and Reserve Components."
