A moment of silence is observed in memory of Senior Airman Aaron A. Rydell, a crew chief in the isochronal dock and a member of the 166th Maintenance Squadron, who passed away on Oct. 15. His fellow Airmen stood in a missing man formation for Airman Rydell, who deployed twice with his unit to Afghanistan and returned home in June. Over 210 Airmen from the 166th Operations Group, 166th Maintenance Group and 166th Mission Support Group of the Delaware Air National Guard, their families and invited guests at a welcome home ceremony Oct. 16, 2011 in the main maintenance hangar at the New Castle ANG Base, Del. The Airmen completed missions lasting three to six months in various locations in Southwest Asia (primarily in Afghanistan), Europe and the U.S., chiefly in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
