Welcome home for 210 Airmen after months of service in Operation Enduring Freedom
Pipes & Drums of the Delaware Valley join over 210 Airmen from the 166th Operations Group, 166th Maintenance Group and 166th Mission Support Group of the Delaware Air National Guard, their families and invited guests at a welcome home ceremony Oct. 16, 2011 in the main maintenance hangar at the New Castle ANG Base, Del. The Airmen completed missions lasting three to six months in various locations in Southwest Asia (primarily in Afghanistan), Europe and the U.S., chiefly in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. On stage are Maj. Mickey Kirschenbaum, the master of ceremonies, Del. National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Frank Vavala, Delaware Governor Jack Markell, U.S. Senator Chris Coons, Congressman John Carney, Maj. Gen. Hugh Broomall, special assistant to the director, ANG, Brig. Gen.
