NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del.- Staff Sgt. Tyler Kern, 166th Security Forces Squadron, keeps Airman First Class Andrew Valladares, intelligence analyst, 166th Airlift Wing, in custody during a simulated active shooter scenario that took place on August 5, 2017. Exercise Vigilant Diamond took place from August 4th – 5th 2017. Response capabilities of base personnel were tested during simulated events that arose during various phases of the exercise. Members of the Delaware Air National Guard responded to incidents including an active shooter incident, hazardous materials incident, and explosive ordinance device sighting.
