Delaware National Guard Blackhawks transport 166th Security Forces members to New Jersey for training
ARMY AVIATION SUPPORT FACILITY, Del. - Members of 166th Security Forces Squadron including Commander Lt. Col. Barry Strube along with Delaware National Guard State Command Chief Master Sgt. Patricia Ottinger, wave to their troops as they fly to Joint Base McGuire-Dix Lakehurst, N.J. on May 7, 2017. A four-ship formation of Blackhawk helicopters from the 238th Aviation Regiment, Delaware National Guard, provided airlift of approximately 40 security forces personnel from the DNG Army Aviation Support Facility to Fort Dix. Delaware Air National Guard security defenders will spend eleven days conducting annual training in areas such as: urban combat training, combat life saver training, self-aid buddy care, and weapons qualifications training along with the 87th Security Forces active duty unit. Governor's Review of the Delaware National Guard Troops
DOVER, Del.- Governor of Delaware John C. Carney Jr. reviewed the troops of the Delaware National Guard for the first time as governor following a ceremony in honor of former DNG Adjutant General (ret) Frank D. Vavala on April 1, 2017 at Delaware State University. Vavala was promoted to a Four Star General in the Delaware State Militia. This prestigious accomplishment marks the first time that a general has achieved this rank in the state of Delaware. Gov. Carney and Delaware National Guard Adjutant General Carol A. Timmons pinned the four star rank insignia on Vavala. Distinguished guests including members of the State of Delaware Congress and Senate, and Delaware State University Leadership were in attendance. A Governor's Review of the Hometown Force took place on April 1, 2017 at Delaware State University. Governor of Delaware John C. Carney Jr. reviewed the troops of the Delaware National Guard for the first time as governor following a ceremony in honor of former DNG Adjutant General (ret) Frank D. Vavala. Vavala was promoted to a Four Star General in the Delaware State Militia.
