P-40
P-40. Image created by Billy Smallwood of the Air Force News Agency. Image is 10x4 inches @ 300 ppi. The P-40 was manufactured by Curtiss and was a single engine, single seat aircraft with an all-metal frame. It was used throughout World War II but was mostly effective in theaters other than Europe due to it’s inferiority to the Luftwaffe in high altitude combat.

Helping Djibouti orphans
Senior Airman Doyle Cox and Tech. Sgt. Cassandra Stevens offer 12-year-old "Ayou" some finer points in painting a building that will serve as a kitchen and dining facility for nearly 30 local youths Dec. 12 in Djibouti. Airman Cox is a California Air National Guardsman based in the Channel Islands and Sergeant Stevens is a Delaware Air National Guardsman based in New Castle. Both Sergeant Stevens and Airman Cox are aeromedical technicians who volunteer their spare time to help a local boy's orphanage. Airmen assigned to the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa help prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect coalition interests in order to prevail against extremism. CMAX/Collaborative Multi-Agency Exercise
Lt. Dinah Lewis reassures Airman 1st Class Justin Vargas, a "burn victim" being airlifted during the Collaborative Multi-Agency Medical Exercise, known as CMAX, that took place in the Washington D.C. area on Dec. 7.
