Col CHRISTOPHER M. FARMER

Col. Christopher M. Farmer presently serves as the Commander of the 166th Operations Group. 

As the commander, he is responsible for leading more than 320 personnel encompassing the 142d Airlift Squadron, 166th Operations Support Squadron, 142d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, and the 166th Cyberspace Operations Squadron. The group’s overall mission is bring the 166th Operations Group and the First State to the fight, executed through a culture of full spectrum readiness by supporting any tactical airlift, aeromedical evacuation and cyber mission requirements anytime and anywhere.

Col Farmer began his military career in 1998 as an Intelligence Analyst in the Delaware Air National Guard. He received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 2002. Col Farmer is a Master Navigator and a Maintenance Officer with over 2900 flight hours, including 924 combat hours. This is in addition to participating in combat and humanitarian relief support and he has been a member of the Delaware Air National Guard for over 22 years. His diverse background includes numerous operational and staff positions to include Chief of Weapons and Tactics, Wing Plans and Programs and Wing Executive Officer. Prior to his current position, he was the 166th MXS Commander, 166th Airlift Wing, New Castle, Delaware.
